2024 Steelers Schedule Preview: Week 6 at Las Vegas Raiders
It’s the official lull of the NFL offseason, and that means it provides enough time to go over things which you might not have time to dive into when the news and storylines are rampant. One of the things which is always something I want to do is an in-depth preview on the schedule. When the schedule gets released it involves a very knee jerk reaction from the fan base, but not a lot of introspection happens once the dust settles.
Well, if you’re like me, you’re in luck. This is the detailed breakdown of the Steelers 2024 regular season schedule, by week.

Projected Starting QB Matchup: Gardner Minshew vs. Russell Wilson
Analysis: Another trip out west might have some fans thinking the west coast curse will continue with the Steelers, but since Ben Roethlisberger’s retirement, it seems it was more a Ben thing than a Steelers thing. Since his retirement the Steelers have won in Los Angeles, Seattle and even Las Vegas. Some wouldn’t call Vegas a true west coast team, but it’s a far travel for the Steelers from east to west.
While the Steelers have had more recent success traveling, and against the Raiders, they haven’t always played well vs. Gardner Minshew. Last season, with the Indianapolis Colts, Minshew and the Colts offense ran all over the Steelers. Could the Raiders do the same thing in 2024?
The quarterback matchup is making a lot of assumptions on both sides. Assuming Minshew hasn’t been replaced by Aiden O’Connell, and that Russell Wilson will remain the starter for the Steelers. Nonetheless, if it does remain as projected it seems to be an advantage for the visiting team.
While I have a massive amount of respect for Maxx Crosby, he feels more and more like lone wolf amidst a rather mundane defense. A matchup the Steelers offense should be able to exploit. On top of that, I feel as if the Steelers defense will be primed and ready to shut down the Raiders offense, although players like Davante Adams will still make plays.
Yes, I realize I have the Steelers at a perfect 6-0 so far this season, but I see this team coming out hot and taking advantage of the weaker early season schedule.
Prediction: Steelers 30, Raiders 20
