It’s the official lull of the NFL offseason, and that means it provides enough time to go over things which you might not have time to dive into when the news and storylines are rampant. One of the things which is always something I want to do is an in-depth preview on the schedule. When the schedule gets released it involves a very knee jerk reaction from the fan base, but not a lot of introspection happens once the dust settles.

Well, if you’re like me, you’re in luck. This is the detailed breakdown of the Steelers 2024 regular season schedule, by week.

Projected Starting QB Matchup: Justin Herbert vs. Russell Wilson

Analysis: Of the early games in the 2024 season, this game seems to be more of a crapshoot than others. The Chargers welcome Jim Harbaugh as the head coach, and they look to rebound with Justin Herbert at the helm. Say what you want about the rest of the roster, but Herbert remains one of the best young quarterbacks in the league.

However, gone are some household names on the Chargers roster, like Keenan Allen, nonetheless the Chargers have had a great offseason through both free agency and the 2024 NFL Draft to help round out the roster.

As for the Steelers, this will be their first home game of the season, and that is important for multiple reasons. After back-to-back road games, getting back to the friendly confines of Acrisure Stadium in front of Steelers fans absolutely will get the team motivated to perform at a high level. Will it be enough to win? This won’t be an easy game, in my opinion, but I think the Steelers have enough going for them to the point where they can find a way to pull out a win in front of the home crowd.

Prediction: Steelers 23, Chargers 21
