It’s the official lull of the NFL offseason, and that means it provides enough time to go over things which you might not have time to dive into when the news and storylines are rampant. One of the things which is always something I want to do is an in-depth preview on the schedule. When the schedule gets released it involves a very knee jerk reaction from the fan base, but not a lot of introspection happens once the dust settles.

Well, if you’re like me, you’re in luck. This is the detailed breakdown of the Steelers 2024 regular season schedule, by week.

Week 11 & 16: vs Baltimore Ravens

Projected Starting QB Matchup: Lamar Jackson vs. Russell Wilson

Analysis: There was a time when games vs. the Ravens scared the crap out of me. The thought of Ed Reed and Ray Lewis getting the best of the Steelers always gave me a sinking feeling in my stomach. Those feelings didn’t subside when the Ravens started to transition away from Joe Flacco into the Lamar Jackson era. But if I’m being honest, those feelings have decreased in the past few seasons.

I’m not getting arrogant, just basing my feelings around the most recent success the Steelers have had vs. the Ravens. In case you didn’t know, the Steelers have won 7 of their last 8 games vs. the Ravens, and the one loss was the game where Mitch Trubisky decided to throw as many completions as possible to the wrong team.

I see the Steelers sweeping the season series with the Ravens, again, but it doesn’t mean they won’t be easy. As always, this will be based on if Lamar Jackson plays in the games. When you look back at past games, the presence of Jackson is almost as rare as a Ravens win. Not that the Steelers haven’t gotten the best of Jackson, but you know what I mean.

If the Steelers want a winning record within the division, they need to sweep at least one team. That team, for me, is the Ravens in 2024.

Prediction:

Week 11: Steelers 26, Ravens 20 (OT)

Week 16: Steelers 20, Ravens 17
