2024 Steelers Schedule Preview: Week 10 at Washington Commanders

It’s the official lull of the NFL offseason, and that means it provides enough time to go over things which you might not have time to dive into when the news and storylines are rampant. One of the things which is always something I want to do is an in-depth preview on the schedule. When the schedule gets released it involves a very knee jerk reaction from the fan base, but not a lot of introspection happens once the dust settles.

Well, if you’re like me, you’re in luck. This is the detailed breakdown of the Steelers 2024 regular season schedule, by week.

Week 10: at Washington Commanders

Date: Monday, November 10th

Time: 1:00pm EST

TV: CBS

Last Meeting: 12/7/20 – Commanders 23, Steelers 17

Overall Series Record: Commanders lead 43-33-3

2023 Records:

Steelers: 10-7

Commanders: 4-13

Early Betting Lines: Steelers -1.5 / O/U: 43.5 / Moneyline: Steelers -122

Projected Starting QB Matchup: Jayden Daniels vs. Russell Wilson

Analysis: This Week 10 road game comes off the heals of the Steelers’ Week 9 bye week, and Mike Tomlin’s record in these situations is well-documented. Yes, it’s a road game, but the Steelers have had great success coming off the bye.

The Commanders should be an improved team in 2024, but they are likely to turn the reigns of the offense over to Jayden Daniels, rookie quarterback out of LSU, by the time Week 10 rolls around. While Daniels provides a unique level of athleticism and skill, you would have to think a rookie quarterback going against the Steelers defense will still be an advantage for Teryl Austin and his defensive unit.

When I predicted the Week 8 game vs. the New York Giants in prime time, I predicted the Steelers first offensive outburst of the season. Coming out of the week off I have the Steelers going back-to-back in terms of 30 points per game. I foresee an offensive outburst near the nation’s capital.

If you’ve been following these predictions, I had them going 7-1 before the bye, and a win on the road vs. Washington would make them 8-1 heading into the final eight weeks of the regular, with all their AFC North games jam packed into the back half of the schedule. It will be do-or-die time for the Steelers, but they’ve done everything they should with the first half of the season to put them in a position to make a run.

Prediction: Steelers 34, Commanders 17
