2 steelers selected First-Team All-Pro for the 2023 NFL season

The Associated Press (AP) has announced its All-Pro selections for the 2023 NFL season. The Pittsburgh Steelers have two players who have been selected First-Team All-Pro in outside linebacker T.J. Watt and special teamer Miles Killebrew.

For Watt, it is his fourth time being selected First-Team All-Pro as he earned the selections in 2019, 2020, and 2021. Watt was also select NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2021.

With only two players selected across the NFL at the edge rusher position, Watt was joined by Myles Garrett as the other selection.

For this season, T.J. Watt led the NFL in sacks with 19, the second highest number in a season of his career. Watt also became the only player in NFL history since sacks became an official statistic in 1982 to lead the NFL in three separate seasons.

For Miles Killebrew, he was selected First-Team All-Pro as the special teamer which is his first selection of his career. Killebrew has been known around the NFL for blocking punts on special teams as he has three blocked punts in three seasons with the Steelers and four in his eight-year NFL career. Killebrew has also been credited with 14 special teams tackles this season according to Pro Football Focus.

Only one special teamer is chosen for the First-Team All-Pro honor. Detroit’s Jalen Reeves-Maybin was the Second-Team selection.

The AP All-Pro Team is selected by a panel of 50 national media members and consists of one starting lineup of all players across both conferences. It is the main recognized All-Pro team by the NFL, even though there are many others, as these selections are factored into contract intensives as well as the formula for determining compensatory draft picks.
