2 players ruled out, 4 questionable for the Steelers on Thursday
The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off of an embarrassing home loss to the Cardinals where several key players were knocked out of the game. But with their next matchup on Thursday, the Steelers have limited time to game plan and get players healthy enough to suit up.
In the final injury report this week courtesy of Steelers.com, it is the only list from an actual practice all week as the Steelers held a walk through on Tuesday. The Steelers have two players ruled out for Thursday night and four others listed as questionable.

With Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin holding his weekly press conference on Monday, he already announced that quarterback Kenny Pickett would be out for Thursday’s game. For this reason, it’s not a surprise to see Pickett would not have practiced this week and is officially ruled out.
There were three other players Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin mentioned in his press conference on Monday who he deemed at the time as questionable for Thursday night. The three players were guard Isaac Seumalo with a shoulder injury, linebacker Elandon Roberts with a groin injury, and cornerback James Pierre with a shoulder injury. On Monday’s estimated report, all three players were listed as not practicing. Tuesday saw Roberts and Seumalo improve to limited participants while Pierre was still listed as not practicing. In Wednesday’s actual practice, Pierre and Seumalo did not participate while Roberts was limited. As for game statuses, Pierre has been ruled out while both Seumalo and Roberts are listed as questionable.
The other two players listed as not practicing on Monday came with a “not injury related” status for at least part of the reasoning. Cornerback Patrick Peterson and defensive lineman Cam Heyward both were listed as not participating Monday although Heyward also had a designation of his groin injury. On Tuesday, Peterson was removed from the list while Heyward was designated as a limited participant. Wednesday saw Heyward once again as limited but he has no injury designation for Thursday night.
The one player who was listed as limited for Monday’s estimated report was rookie defensive lineman Keeanu Benton. He is listed as having an oblique injury and was not known to be injured otherwise prior to Monday. On Tuesday, Benton was once again listed as limited. Wednesday’s practice saw Benton as a limited participant again but he carries no injury status.
Two other players landed on the injury report but were estimated to be full participants. Montravius Adams was estimated to be back from his ankle injury as coach Tomlin said he would be available on Thursday. Additionally, Minkah Fitzpatrick is dealing with his hand injury but was estimated he would not miss practice. As expected, both players were once again listed as full on Tuesday and Wednesday and neither have an injury designation.
After the original injury report came out Monday, the Steelers added Mason Cole to the list as being limited with a neck injury. On Tuesday, Cole was once again limited. Wednesday saw Cole limited again but he has a questionable status for Thursday night.
There was one new player to list on Tuesday as Najee Harris was listed as not participating with a knee injury. With Thursday being the true test, Harris was not able to practice and is listed as questionable.
