Stars Winning Streak Snaps At Hands Of Kings
The Dallas Stars’ three-game winning streak is unfortunately over.
Dallas fell 3-2 at Crypto.com arena against the LA Kings in a Tuesday Night showdown between two red-hot teams.
Knowing the first period that the Stars played, you would have thought that they cruised to victory.
Just 40 seconds into the game, Dallas went onto the power play and would cash in during the final seconds.
Wyatt Johnston whacked home his initial shot to put the Stars up 1-0 via a last-second power play strike.
Later in the frame, Mason Marchment continued his red-hot season by burying a nice feed from Jason Robertson to double the Stars’ lead.
However, after that seemingly everything else went straight downhill.
At 4:40 of the second period, the Kings cut the lead to 2-1 when Tanner Jeannot buried a rebound.
Following a faceoff win at 15:38, LA would tie the game thanks to a slap shot from Joel Edmundson.
Just 2:22 into the third period, Warren Foegele put home a wrap-around that would end up as the last goal of the night for either side.
Dallas had a power play late in the third and had Jake Oettinger on the bench for an extra skater but just could not find the equalizer.
“Up two, it’s definitely a really good opportunity to win,” Johnston said. “Didn’t do a good enough job to keep playing and ultimately finish off the other team.”
