Stars Get First Win in Boston Since 2018
It had been a long time coming. The Dallas Stars hadn’t won a game in Boston against the Bruins since 2018.
Keyword…. Hadn’t.
The Stars used five goals from five different forwards to pick up a big 5-2 win over the Bruins on Thursday night.
Coming into the night, the Stars powerplay was struggling but you couldn’t tell by watching this game.
Dallas netted three power-play goals in the second period which tied a team record for the most in a period since the franchise moved to Dallas in 1993.
“It’s exciting to see some power-play goals go in,” Tyler Seguin said. “We’ve been working hard at it, probably gripping our sticks too much at it. … We’ve just been working through it, and it’s nice to see some results for the players.”
Boston would get the first goal of the night at 11:57 in the first period when David Pastrnak buried what was once a turnover by Matt Dumba to make it 1-0 Boston.
Later in the frame, Matt Duchene tied the game continuing his smoking hot start to the season. Duchene now has four goals and five assists in eight games.
Instantly once the second period started, the Stars power play goal outrage began. Jason Robertson gave Dallas the lead just 31 seconds into the second period.
Tyler Seguin and Logan Stankoven scored the Stars next two goals to make it four and give the Dallas powerplay a historic night.
Roope Hintz finished into the empty net late in the third to close this one out for the Stars.
Dallas is now 2-0-0 following a loss this season.
