The Knights had another good week, only losing one game, and overall, the club is 10-3 in its last 13. The Knights’ strong finish to a below-average first half has continued into the early portion of the second half.
Cory Abbott had a phenomenal week on the mound, pitching seven shutout innings, only allowing one hit and striking out 12. Abbott, 28, was a second round pick in 2017, and made brief stints in the majors with the Cubs and Nationals. Abbott has not played in the majors this season, but in 36 innings with the Knights, opponents have batted only .218 against him, and he has a 4.25 ERA. Between Abbott’s two-inning relief appearance on Tuesday and his five-inning start on Saturday, the righthander was very difficult to solve. Congratulations to him on a great week that helped the Knights start the second half on a high note.
Catcher Chuckie Robinson, 29, finished 7-for-13 with a homers and five RBIs, so he certainly deserves honorable mention. It was a very tight race in Charlotte for the Player of the Week, but Abbott’s seven innings were nearly spotless, and Robinson only had 13 plate appearances, so the slight edge went to the hurler. However, it is difficult to overstate how well Robinson played. Overall, Robinson has a .696 OPS with the Knights this season, which is not special, but the White Sox could certainly use a backup catcher who has an OPS above, say, .261, which Robinson would more than likely achieve.

The Barons have cooled down a bit over the past few weeks after a scorching-hot start, but still own a terrific overall record.
Center fielder Matt Hogan performed admirably throughout his 20 plate appearances, finishing 6-for-14 with a homer, three doubles, and six walks. Hogan also stole went 2-for-2 in stolen base attempts. Hogan, 24, boosted his OPS to .835 in his first season of professional baseball. The Orel Roberts product started the season with the Cannon Ballers, where he had a decent performance across 36 games. Although Hogan has only played nine games in Double-A, he has posted surprisingly massive numbers at a significantly higher level. Congratulations to Hogan on his first weekly award of the season.

Would you look at that? The Dash went 3-3 again this week, and they remain below .500 but within striking distance of breaking even.
Left fielder Mario Camilletti posted great numbers, finishing 6-for-16 with a homer and seven RBIs. Camilletti boosted his season OPS to .769, and he has shown some major improvement since earning his promotion to Winston-Salem last August. Overall, Camilletti is one of the tougher hitters to retire in the Dash lineup, and his OBP is now .369.

The Cannon Ballers stumbled a bit this week, finishing 1-5 (although the one win was a nine-inning no-hitter from Seth Keener, Luke Bell and Nick Altermatt!), and they are off to a slow start in the second half.
Despite the team’s cold streak, George Wolkow had a massive week, smashing two homers en route to a 1.220 OPS. Wolkow, an 18-year-old outfielder from Downers Grove, is listed at 6´7´´ and 239 pounds. Wolkow is still very early into his career, but he has a ton of power, and he really showed his potential during this hot stretch at the plate.
Catcher Luis Pineda was also close to earning the weekly honor, going 9-for-20 with a 1.200 OPS. Pineda got off to a slow start to the season, but he played very well overall during the month of June.
