White Sox Minor League Player of the Month (August 2024): Noah Schultz
The Barons led the way in August, finishing 15-12, the only winning month in the system. Although there were several strong individual performances, it should be no surprise that Barons starter Noah Schultz is August’s Player of the Month. Surprisingly, despite how good Schultz has been, this is his first monthly honor of the season, but he is on the board now.

Outfielder Zach DeLoach provided a major spark to the Knights offense to earn a trip back to the majors in early September. Although the Knights finished with a losing record in August, DeLoach was on top of his game, posting a .999 OPS and launching a pair of homers. DeLoach also hit eight doubles, a triple, and he drew 14 walks. It’s the multifaceted outfielder’s second monthly honor this year. Overall, DeLoach has made a huge impact on Charlotte’s offense this season, and it will be interesting to see if he can ride this momentum into success in this season-end stint with the White Sox.

Starting pitcher Noah Schultz has rocketed not just to No. 1 in the White Sox organizational prospect rankings, but to No. 14 across baseball. With yet another strong month, Schultz, 21, proved once again that he belongs with the elite minor leaguers. In 15 innings, Schultz only allowed one earned run on seven hits, striking out 17. The White Sox have a great history of developing tall, left-handed pitchers, one of the few things the organization has done well. So far, Schultz is following that trend and could become a key piece of the rotation for years to come.

August was no picnic for the Dash, who stumbled through the month and fell to 12 below .500 overall. However, Aldrin Batista tapped into his potential and was dominant in 21 innings of work. Batista has spent most of this season with Kannapolis, posting a 3.51 ERA and a 4.20 FIP there. Incredibly, however, after earning a promotion on August 6, Batista has had significantly better numbers with Winston-Salem (1.29 ERA, 2.35 FIP). Also impressively, this is Aldrin’s second monthly honor this year, earning one at each A-ball level in 2024. Batista, 21, has been one of the better stories from the second half of the season.

Sam Antonacci, a 21-year-old shortstop, has made a fantastic first impression in professional baseball. The White Sox drafted Antonacci in the fifth round in this year’s draft, and he made his Cannon Ballers debut on August 8. Antonacci is an Illinois native who has displayed an excellent ability to put the bat on the ball and get on base. He has also been a threat on the basepaths, swiping four bases in as many attempts. Well done to Antonacci on making a splash so early on in his career.

The DSL White Sox stumbled to a slow finish to their season, going 5-10 in August. Jurdrick Profar led the way for the offense, as he was very difficult to retire. Profar, a 17-year-old shortstop, had a solid campaign despite the DSL White Sox’s unremarkable season. Profar slashed .264/.397/.390 to provide some important stability in a lineup that often lacked stability.
