Visiting Dugout Episode 63 — Oakland Athletics

These two teams are hardly major league teams right now. Both are last in their respective divisions. One is about to play in a minor-league ballpark next season, and the other is full of minor-league players. While they’re both down badly this season, the Athletics are still doing better than the White Sox.

The delightful Aaron Cameron joined me to chat about the A’s and preview the upcoming series in Oakland, for the last time.

Here is what we talked about:

  • What’s new in Oakland?
  • Solidarity in horrendous ownership
  • The Coliseum is honestly a special place
  • The future of the A’s
  • Grading the trade deadline
  • Mason Miller and why representation matters
  • Pitching matchups
  • Threats, keys, and fears
  • Baseball roots run deep
  • Finding comfort in broadcasters and Twitter friends

While we’re on the subject of Oakland, here are a few pictures from my May trip to see the Coliseum before it’s no more.

You can find Aaron on Twitter.
