Sox Populi White Sox Player of the Week (July 26-31): Brooks Baldwin

There’s nothing I can write about Brooks Baldwin that S.R. Silver can’t write better, so just click on over to read her piece from last month and catch up on what a great catch Brooks has been for the Sox. This will not be his last Player of the Week.

We have a couple of leaders about to depart our list, as we keep only active players in the organization on our Top 10s, so Erick Fedde and Tommy Pham are going to open up the Player of the Year race a bit now. I mean, the winners (Garrett Crochet and Pedro Grifol) are pretty much ensured, but hey let’s play it out the rest of the year, just for kicks.

Writer Standings

This season we’ve had fewer recappers than any year probably dating back to 2019, and you can hardly blame folks for staying away given this club. Hannah has been cursed, going back to spring training; given she has covered every Sunday game, that is Chicago’s Sunday record this season, 2020. Hamster is in danger, with frequent recaps at South Side Sox, of overtaking Hannah; she’s already got a worse winning percentage and is trying to chase down longest losing streak of the season.

Meanwhile, Joe Resis just sits up top, sassy, at 2-1.
