Sharing Sox Podcast 139 — Will anybody buy a ticket next season?
Duty geezer Leigh Allan and his son and west coast correspondent, Will, ring in the new year (okay, a few days late) with a cast dedicated to how they believe the White Sox will suddenly break through this season and become a major league team again, sweeping all before them en route to a season of 90, 100, 110 wins, or even more!!
Okay, that’s a lie, but they do manage to mostly avoid talking about how bad the 2025 Sox will be by talking about other teams, terrific players who happen to play their trade elsewhere, free agents who are heading for distant parts, the future of the AL Central, and the amazing Traject Arc pitching machine, before wallowing into the unfortunate likelihood Jerry Reinsdorf will outlive everybody who has been born to date.
Then it’s on to Luis Robert, Jr. — how likely is it he can somehow regain past glories after his dismal 2024, and that some other team will then provide the Sox with a lot of talented prospects while he gets to go play with an outfit that actually wants to win baseball games and has a reasonable chance of doing so?
Finally, there’s the magical question, “Don’t you ever think with a brain?” which seems reasonable under the circumstances.
