Chicago White Sox: Arizona Fall League Week 5 Recap (November 4-10)

Only six members of the White Sox minor league system saw action for the Glendale Desert Dogs this past week. The DDs captured one win and two losses over the stretch and sit tied with the Salt River Rafters in second place overall with a 14-12 record.

Eric Adler
The righthander is now with Team USA as a member of the Premier12 squad, although through two games he has yet to make an appearance there. He ended his AFL stint with a 7.00 ERA and 1.67 WHIP over nine innings and six contests. Opponents hit him for a .364 average.

Andrew Dalquist
The 23-year-old appeared in two games and tossed three scoreless frames. He struck out one and walked two but didn’t give up a single hit. This was his third straight outing without surrendering a run.

DJ Gladney
The Oak Park native still has not been able to find his way at the plate. He played in two games and went 1-for-6. His outfield defense has definitely outpaced his offense, and he’s still been perfect in 30 chances.

Tim Elko
The Captain is also now with Team USA. He played in the opening contest against Puerto Rico, in which the United States lost in a close one, 1-0. Elko went 0-for-3 with two Ks, so not such a great start there. He did not play in the Game 2 victory versus the Netherlands. Team USA is looking for their second win on Sunday when they face Venezuela.

Anthony Hoopii-Tuionetoa
AHT hurled a scoreless eighth inning during the Glendale’s loss to the Rafters last Monday. He gave up no hits and struck out one batter.

Colson Montgomery
Chicago’s No. 3 prospect (MLB No. 37) wrapped up his AFL season on November 1 after playing in 11 contests. He finished with a .313/.511/.656 slash line, as well as three bombs, 11 RBIs, and a 1.167 OPS over 32 at-bats.

Peyton Pallette
The righty has not pitched since Week 3 of the AFL. It’s uncertain if he’s finished his work and is now done, or what exactly his status is.

Grant Taylor
Despite his AFL struggles, Chicago’s No. 6 prospect made the 2024 AFL Fall Stars team and pitched one inning in the game last Friday. He allowed no runs on one hit while striking out one.

Michael Turner
The 26-year-old served as the backstop in three games. The catcher had a pretty good week and went 3-for-9 with six RBI and three walks.

The AFL wraps up this week after four more regular games, and then concludes on Friday with the play-in semifinal and the championship game on Saturday.
