SNOW DAY: Philadelphia Is Expecting Snow For Rams/Eagles
“If you don’t like ‘snow football,’ then I don’t like you.” This is a phrase that I have lived by ever since I could remember. It is a saying that I have held very close to my heart, and something that I will take to the grave the day I kick the bucket.
Snow games, for lack of a better phrase…..are “something special.” They are football in it’s PUREST FORM; 22 dudes on a field, braving the elements, trying to bash each other’s heads in. It is the EPITOME of football weather, and something that I DESPERATELY pray for whenever a new week of games comes around. That is why when I saw the news about the weather forecast for Rams/Eagles this Sunday…..I almost LOST IT!
Weather Update: Philadelphia’s forecast for Sunday’s #Eagles/#Rams Divisional Playoff game will have SNOW.

This……this is going to be fun. Not only will we (hopefully) be seeing a football game in the snow, which is WONDERFUL in itself. But we will also (hopefully) be seeing a PLAYOFF GAME IN PHILLY being played in the snow. That….that is the CREAM OF THE CROP, when it comes to football games. When you have something as IMPORTANT as a Divisional round match-up being played in an environment like Lincoln Financial Field, in WINTER CONDITIONS? That’s a dream come true!
But when it comes to the gambling side of things……how could this new forecast change things, when it comes to the play on the field?
Well as of right now, the Eagles are a 6-point favorite heading into this contest. During the regular season, Philadelphia covered the spread at a 67% clip, compared to the Rams’ 56%. To top it all off; these two teams did meet earlier this season in Philadelphia, where Nick Sirianni and co. took down their opposition by a score of 37-20.
It was such a lopsided moment for Sean McVay’s group……and I can’t see things changing when Sunday rolls around. In frigid conditions that his team isn’t used to, against the best defense in the league……I don’t see his offense standing a chance. Kyren Williams is a great back in his own right, don’t get me wrong. But if the Rams are going to have to rely on him for a majority of the game….they’re not going to stand a chance.
Now sure…..the Rams STOMPED OUT the frauds known as the Minnesota Vikings in Arizona. They completely SHOCKED THE WORLD (including me) when they dropped kicked Sam Darnold back to the hallows of mediocrity. But the Eagles are a BIG-TIME step above the purple and yellow. And the winter wonderland that’s expected to come in is NOT going to do them any favors.
Can this all collapse on me? Absolutely! The snow could prove to be a detriment to Jalen Hurts and the rest of Philly’s offense. But with Saquon in the backfield, and the rest of the offense being who they are…..I just feel more confident taking the Eagles -6.
But you know what? What do I know? I’m just a guy from the Midwest, with a beer and a laptop, trying to make sense of this world.
