Smackdown Results: Kevin Owens Piledriver Sends Randy Orton to Hospital

You always come back to the classics.

Randy Orton came to the ring on last night’s Smackdown and called out Kevin Owens.

That was a mistake, because Owens won the fight and dropped Orton on his head with the dreaded piledriver.

There’s reason why the move is banned in Mexico and why it kicked off the legendary feud between Hulk Hogan and Paul Orndorff in 1986.

Orton took a ride to the hospital, with WWE champion Cody Rhodes offering his support.

BLOODLINE: THIS MEANS WAR

Speaking of support, Sami Zayn finally rejoined the Original Bloodline team of Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso.

He saved them from an attack by Bloodline 2.0 (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa) at the end of the show.

The two Samoan factions will battle in a War Games match at Survivor Series on Nov. 30 in Vancouver.

In addition, the double cage match will finally determine whether Reigns or Solo is the Tribal Chief.

NON-TITLE ACTION

In other results, Bayley defeated Candice LeRae in the opening bout; and #DIY beat Pretty Deadly in less than two minutes.

WWE women’s tag team champions Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair defeated Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax in a non-title match.

Motor City Machine Guns also won a non-title bout over Austin Theory & Grayson Waller. The Guns will defend the WWE tag team title next week against The Street Profits.

Smackdown General Manager Nick Aldis announced the creation of the Women’s United States title. Don’t be surprised if we also get a Women’s Intercontinental title on Raw.

Both TV shows will expand to three hours next year, with Smackdown on USA and Raw moving to Netflix.
