Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso Try to Rebuild the Bloodline
Jimmy Uso lost the Smackdown main event last night against his little brother, Solo Sikoa.
Solo and Jacob Fatu beat down Uso and Roman Reigns after the match.
Reigns and Jimmy seemed to agree that they needed to recruit some help in their war against Solo’s Bloodline 2.0.
BEAT THE CHAMP
Naomi defeated WWE women’s champion Nia Jax in a non-title match. Jax is looking forward to her match at Crown Jewel against World women’s champion Liv Morgan.
After the bout, Rhea Ripley showed up to attack both champions and Raquel Rodriguez.
Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill retained the WWE women’s tag team title by defeating Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson from the Meta-Four faction in NXT.
US TITLE CONTENDERS
LA Knight retained the US title with a win over Carmelo Hayes, who blamed archrival Andrade at ringside for the loss.
Smackdown general manager Nick Aldis made a “Game 7” match between Hayes and Andrade. The winner will get another US title shot.
Santos Escobar reminded Aldis that he is also a contender for the US belt.
THE TRIALS OF CODY
Cody Rhodes has a lot on his plate as WWE champion. He tried to get revenge for the recent untelevised attack by Kevin Owens. This resulted in a skirmish between Owens and Randy Orton.
Rhodes is also preparing to face World champion Gunther at Crown Jewel. That should be an uphill battle.
Next week on Smackdown, the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) will make their WWE debut after more than 20 years on the independent scene. I used to announce their singles matches early in their careers.
