Affected by Altitude Episode 138: We Just Got a Letter

Rocky Mountain Rooftop is the Colorado Rockies affiliate of Fans First Sports Network dedicated to covering all things Rockies. Our flagship podcast Affected by Altitude, hosted by Evan Lang and Skyler Timmins, covers all the happenings of the big league club. Other shows under the RMR banner include Every Rockie Ever and Rooftop Mingle featuring player interviews.

This week, Evan is activated off the IL to rejoin Skyler and discuss the Gold Glove Awards given to Ezequiel Tovar and Brenton Doyle. Both have continued to showcase incredible skills with the glove and highlight a bright future for the Rockies’ defense. The Rockies also made another move by claiming pitcher Jimmy Herget from the Chicago Cubs. He is known as the human glitch and has had some instances of success in his career, but his makeup as a pitcher is a bit worrying for the confines of Coors Field and the guys ponder if this will be their only move.

Additionally, Jacob Stallings has hit free agency and it remains to be seen if the Rockies can retain him. There was mutual interest between the two sides but will they manage to find the right price for the veteran mentor or will he be lured away by another team? They also break down minor league free agents, including Elehuris Montero heading to Japan. Finally, we just heard the mailman leave, and we just got a letter. It’s addressed to Rockies season ticket holders and the author is one Mr. Harry Ralston Black, and we aren’t impressed.
