This week, Skyler and Evan discuss the position battles for 2025 that seem to have already started. Top-catching prospect Drew Romo hasn’t seen the field in 11 days and appears to have been supplanted by Hunter Goodman. What’s the reasoning, and can we expect Goodman to start as catcher next year? Both are young and need plenty of development, but is it way too early to write off Romo in favor of a home run or bust plate approach of Goodman? Meanwhile, when it comes to the fourth outfielder, the Rockies have enjoyed favorable results from Jake Cave and Sam Hilliard. Cave has reached career highs in playing time while Hilliard has settled in nicely as the extra outfielder. Both are similar in fashion with slight differences. With the amount of young outfielders the organization has, can it really afford to keep both players in 2025?  Finally, this might be Charlie Blackmon’s last week as a Colorado Rockie and the guys spend a little bit of time contemplating that fact about one of the greatest to play in purple.
