Affected by Altitude Episode 127: The Future is now Old Man! (Plus Rooftop Mingle with Kyle Karros

Rocky Mountain Rooftop is the Colorado Rockies affiliate of Fans First Sports Network dedicated to covering all things Rockies. Our flagship podcast Affected by Altitude, hosted by Evan Lang and Skyler Timmins, covers all the happenings of the big league club. Other shows under the RMR banner include Every Rockie Ever and Rooftop Mingle featuring player interviews.

This week, Evan and Skyler discuss the youth movement of the Colorado Rockies. In the dog days of the season, the Rockies have suddenly turned into a lineup of home grown players full of youth. Additionally, Bill Schmidt’s recent trade acquisitions and younger pitchers are beginning to turn some heads on the mound and give fans some hope for the years to come. Not to mention, more reinforcements are on the way, signaling that the Rockies must have more faith in their developing process.  As part of that rebuild, the future of manager Bud Black must be discussed. The guys discuss the tenure of Black, his place in Rockeis history as the man with the most games managed in team history. In the wake of the news that the Seattle Mariners dismissed their manager citing a need for a new voice and fresh vibe in the clubhouse, will the Rockies follow suite after the season? Rounding out the show they welcome Spokane Indians third baseman and Rockies No. 19 prospect Kyle Karros for a Rooftop Mingle! They discuss his stellar season in Spokane, his relationship with his dad, and former big leaguer, Eric Karros now that he is a professional ball player himself.
