Rockets Open Road Trip With Big Win Over Wizards
The Houston Rockets’ three-game road trip is off to a flying start thanks to a strong performance in our national capitol on Tuesday night.
Houston took down the Wizards by a score of 135-112 thanks to a strong second-half performance.
Jalen Green led the way with 29 points, 22 of which coming in the third quarter that the Rockets scored 40 points in.
Every single other Rockets starter also joined Green in double figures in a complete team effort win.
Amen Thompson scored 20 points and even more impressively brought down 15 rebounds as he continues his breakout season.
Alperen Sengun had another strong performance putting up 26 points 10 rebounds and 6 assists.
The veteran duo of Fred VanVleet and Dillion Brooks also came through with strong performances.
VanVleet dropped 19 with a strong 12 assists to go alongside them. Brooks came though with 11.
Cam Whitmore continued to step up as he scored 17 points while taking just 8 shots in 17 minutes off the bench.
Houston played seven players off the bench with the nature of the score at the end of the dominant night.
It wasn’t always dominant for the Rockets who trailed 30-20 after the first quarter. However, following a 37-25 second quarter, Houston never trailed again.
In the second half, the Rockets outscored the Wizards 78-57 in a very strong and impressive showing.
Next up for the Rockets, they will travel to Memphis to take on the third-place Grizzlies who remain without Ja Morant.
