Rockets Down Pelicans In Return From NBA Cup
After a thrilling run to the semi-finals of the Emirates NBA Cup, the Houston Rockets were back in action on Thursday night.
Facing a depleted New Orleans Pelicans team, the Rockets used a strong offensive night to claim a 133-113 win.
With the win, the Rockets are now an impressive 11-3 at home this season, improving to 18-9 overall.
Jalen Green led the way for the Rockets scoring 34 points with six rebounds and three assists to go along with it.
Dillion Brooks scored 26 points knocking down six three-pointers as part of ten made field goals on the night.
Alperen Sengun was the third Rocket to score 20 or more points, scoring 23 with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Fred VanVleet (13) and Jabari Smith (15) rounded out the starting five, which all scored in double figures.
Off the bench, the Rockets got ten points from Aaron Holliday who shot 3-5 in one of his strongest performances of the season.
Amen Thompson scored just four points off the bench but had a solid four rebounds and five assists alongside it.
Houston was without Tari Eason who missed while managing the leg injury that he has been dealing with.
The Rockets finished the game with a strong 17-39 (43.6%) from beyond the arc.
On Sunday, the Rockets will be back in action when they travel north of the border to take on the Raptors.
Sunday’s contest is part of a three-game road trip that will see the Rockets take on three squads with a combined record of 19-44.
After Toronto, Houston will travel to Charlotte to face the Hornets and then down to New Orleans to play these same Pelicans.
