Raptors Scottie Barnes Out 3 Weeks With Orbital Fracture

The Toronto Raptors will be without their franchise cornerstone for at least the next three weeks due to injury.

Scottie Barnes suffered a right orbital fracture during The Raptors’ contest against the Denver Nuggets game, the team announced Wednesday.

Barnes left the game after he was elbowed in the face by Nikola Jokic in the final minute of the fourth quarter.

The Raptors said in a statement that Barnes would be reevaluated in three weeks, “and his condition will be updated as appropriate.”

So far this season, the Raptors are 1-3 after their tough overtime loss to the Nuggets on Monday night.

In those four games, Barnes is averaging 19.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists in each contest.

This offseason Barnes inked a five-year, $224.9 million maximum contract extension with the Raptors.

With that deal, Barnes is the highest-paid player in Toronto Raptors history. The deal will begin next season.
