Ranking The Last Five Heisman Winners #5 Caleb Williams USC 2022
Four weeks from now, we’ll all gather around or TV, and Saturdays will become fun again.
College Football is almost officially back but until then, let’s look back on some great player runs in recent years.
Let’s rank the last five players to win the Heisman trophy starting with Caleb Wiliams at number five.
Williams was named the Heisman trophy winner in 2022, beating out fellow QB’s CJ Stroud of Ohio State, Stetson Bennett of Georgia, and Max Duggan of TCU.
After throwing for 4,075 yards and 37 touchdown passes, Williams was named the eighth Heisman winner at USC, the first since Reggie Bush in 2005.
Caleb Williams finished third nationally in total offense with 4,447 yards, a mark that broke USC’s school record.
Trojans head coach Lincon Riley brought Caleb Williams with him from Oklahoma prior to the 2022 season and found instant success in Southern California.
USC finished 12th in the final AP poll during Williams’ Heisman year after losing both the Pac-12 Championship game and the Cotton Bowl.
The following season, USC had an extremely disappointing year despite very high expectations.
In Williams final season as a College Football player, the Trojans went just 8-5 winding up in the Holliday Bowl where they would take down Louisville 42-28.
Following the disappointing season, Williams was taken number one overall in the 2024 NFL draft by the Chicago Bears where he will attempt to put an end to their infamous QB carrousel.
Williams will make his NFL debut on September 8th when the Bears take on the Titans at Soldier Field.
