Randy Orton Welcomes WWE NXT to St. Louis

After CM Punk appeared in Chicago last week, Randy Orton was the featured star on WWE NXT in his hometown of St. Louis.

Musical star Sexxy Red, who is also from St. Louis, appeared as well.

Orton, a 13-time World champion, defeated Je’Von Evans in the main event with the RKO.

Despite Evans’ loss, he impressed NXT General Manager Ava (The Rock’s daughter). She set up a three-way match with Evans vs. Wes Lee vs. Ethan Page.

The winner will challenge Trick Williams for the NXT title at Halloween Havoc.

WWE women’s tag team champions Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill lent more star power to the show. They teamed with Kelani Jordan to defeat Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley, Jaycie Jayne & Jazmyn Nyx).

Belair & Cargill will defend their belts against the Meta-Four duo of Jakara Jackson & Lash Legend. The title match will take place on Smackdown instead of on NXT.

WIN FOR THE FAMILY

Tony D’Angelo, leader of NXT’s Mafia-like D’Angelo Family, upset Oba Femi to win the North American championship.

Femi had won 30 matches in a row before losing his title to “The Don.”

Stephanie Vaquer made her return to NXT, as she will team up with Guilia soon to oppose Cora Jade and NXT women’s champion Roxanne Perez.

Nathan Frazier & Axiom continue to impress as NXT tag team champions. They beat former WWE tag team champions Austin Theory & Grayson Waller to retain the belts.

NXT will return to its regular home in Orlando, Fla., next week after its two-week road trip to kick off its run on The CW network.
