Padres, Phillies Win to Tie National League Division Series

The San Diego Padres bashed six home runs to vanquish the Dodgers 10-2 last night in Los Angeles.

Jack Flaherty gave up bombs to Fernando Tatis Jr. and David Peralta in the first two innings as the Padres built a 3-1 lead.

Jackson Merrill’s RBI single in the sixth gave San Diego some more breathing room.

Meanwhile, Padres starter Yu Darvish dominated the Dodgers’ formidable lineup. He pitched seven innings, giving up just three hits and one run.

The Dodgers’ fans were not happy. They were booed and threw trash onto the field, causing a 12-minute delay.

San Diego turned the game into a laugher in the final two innings, with homers by Merrill, Xander Bogaerts, Kyle Higashioka, and Tatis Jr.

With the series tied at one game apiece, San Diego will host Game 3 on Tuesday at 9:08 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.

Michael King will start for the Padres, while the Dodgers will go with Walker Buehler.

PHILADELPHIA 7, NEW YORK METS 6

Nick Castellanos’ walk-off single tied the other NL Division Series, capping off a wild slugfest.

The Mets opened a 3-0 lead with home runs by Mark Vientos in the third and Pete Alonso in the sixth.

Philly fired back when Bryce Harper and Castellanos went deep in the sixth to tie the game 3-3.

Brandon Nimmo gave the Mets a 4-3 lead on a homer in the seventh.

The Phillies surged ahead 6-4 when Bryce Stott tripled in two runs and scored on a ground ball.

That lead wasn’t safe, either, as Vientos hit his second homer of the game to tie the score.

Philly won the game in the ninth on Castellanos’ single. The Phillies will travel to the Big Apple for Game 3 on Tuesday at 5:08 on Fox Sports 1.

Aaron Nola will start for Philly, while the Mets will counter with Sean Manaea.
