Ohio State beats Northwestern, 31-7

On Saturday November 16th the 2nd ranked 8-1 Ohio State Buckeyes traveled to Chicago Illinois to play the 4-5 unranked Northwestern Wildcats at Wrigley Field. This Big Ten Conference matchup was another tune up game for the Buckeyes. Next week they will host the 5th ranked 10-0 Indiana Hoosiers at Ohio Stadium. Buckeyes fans were hoping that this game wouldn’t be a trap game for this team.

Northwestern did take 7-0 second quarter lead on an 8-yard Jack Lausch touchdown run. But soon after that Ohio State had 31 unanswered points. Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard had another good game going 15-24, for 247 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. Wide receiver Jeremiah Smith had 4 receptions for 100 yards. Ohio State receiver and Chicago native Carnell Tate had 2 touchdown receptions in his hometown for this game. Quinshon Judkins rushed for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns on 15 carries to lead the Buckeyes in rushing. The Buckeyes defense was able to create the games only turnover of a fumble recovery. This was another team win for the second ranked team in the country. Which brings into question of how big is next week’s game against the 5th ranked Indiana Hoosiers?

Next Saturday November 23rd ,2024, at noon eastern time, at Ohio Stadium in Columbus Ohio the 2nd ranked 9-1 Ohio State Buckeyes will host the 5th ranked 10-0 Indiana Hoosiers. The winner of this game would most likely get an appearance in the Big Ten Championship game on December 7th,2024, in Indianapolis Indiana. This will be the most important game of the 2024 season at this point.  Indiana did not play this weekend because it was their bye weekend. They will be rested and ready to play the Buckeyes. Will the Buckeyes be ready too? We will have to watch and see for ourselves.
