No. 2 Ohio State vs No. 5 Indiana, Week 13 Preview
On Saturday November 23rd the 2nd ranked Ohio State Buckeyes will host the 5th ranked Indiana Hoosiers in Columbus Ohio. This is the college football game of the week. Indiana is coming off their bye last week. While Ohio State defeated Northwestern 31-7 at Wrigley Field in Chicago Illinois. Prior to the bye week Indiana defeated Michigan 20-15 in Indiana. It is most likely that the winner of this game will have the inside track to earn the berth in the Big Ten Championship game on December 7th, 2024, in Indianapolis Indiana.
This is the biggest game for Indiana in a long time, while Ohio State has already played Oregon and Penn State in a big game atmosphere this season. Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard has the experience factor on his side for Saturday. True freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith did play in both the Oregon and Penn State games. The big game spotlight did not negatively affect his play either. Do not misunderstand me, Indiana is a good team, and they are ranked 5th for a reason. However, Ohio State is ranked 2nd too. They lost in Oregon earlier this season by only 1 point. That game could have gone either way. Ohio State is a 12.5-point favorite for Saturday. I would expect the Buckeyes to win this game.
One factor that could be a possible impact for the game is that on November 30th, 2024, the Ohio State Buckeyes will be hosting the Michigan Wolverines. This is the “Game” for Ohio State and their fans. Is it possible for the Buckeyes to look past Indiana and think too much about Michigan? If they don’t win the Indiana game? The Michigan game would have a lot less meaning for the 2024 season.
