Night of Firsts: Bills Continue to Dominate As They Start 3-0
The Buffalo Bills were back in action at home after an extended break playing on Thursday last week, where they dominated the Miami Dolphins and were looking to do the same as they faced the other Florida team the 0 and 2 Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football at Highmark Stadium. The Bills were coming into the match 2-0 and were look to continue their winning ways as they were trying to get to 3-0 for the first time since 2020. However, the task was no easy feat as Trevor Lawrence and Doug Peterson were looking to try and flip the switch as this was the first time the Jaguars have started 0-2 since 2021 when they drafted Lawrence. Both teams were hungry for the win and this game looked like it was going to be a good matchup.
However, The Buffalo Bills continued there dominating ways as they started off with the ball and had a 6 minute drive even going for it one time on 4th and 4 and capitalizing on it as they brought the ball all the way to the 6 yard line where on first and goal Allen handed the ball off to James Cook who used it in for the 6 yard touchdown to start off the scoring 6-0 Buffalo as Tyler Bass missed the extra point. On defense the Bills continued to look good as a front as they forced the Jaguars to a punt on their first drive. Then the next drive on offence for the Bills was another long drive as they took 5 minutes to get to the Jaguars 6 yard line again where it was 3rd and goal where Allen had pressure and was dancing around in the pocket and extended his arm to make a nice throw to Dalton Kinkaid who got his feet in bounds for a very nice catch and his first touchdown of the season making the score 13-0 Bills with 3:25 left in the first quarter. This was all the scoring in the first quarter all done by Buffalo but Jacksonville continued with the ball into the second quarter rekindling a surge on offence.
In the second quarter the Jaguars continue their good drive but were stopped on 3rd at 9 at Buffalos 41 and had to settle for a Cameron Little field goal to make the score 13-3 Bills. On the next drive on offence the Bills were looking to score on back to back to back drives and that is what they did as they led a 4 minute drive where they were on the Jaguars 25 yard line on 1st and 10 where Josh Allen found Keon Coleman on the right side who burned #30 on defense for the Jaguars and ran it in for his first touchdown as a rookie for the Buffalo Bills making the score 20-3 Bills. Then on defense for the Bills another first time play happened and it was instrumental on 1st and 10 with 4:20 left in the quarter Trevor Lawrence had the ball and was looking for Brian Thomas Jr but overthrew him and it landed right in the hands of Damar Hamlin who got his first interception. This interception started the charge for The Bills as after everything he went through to finally get that interception, just made the Bills offence work harder and on offence The Bills were looking to go 4 for 4 on drives and that is what they did as Josh Allen threw a 27 yard touchdown to Khalil Shakir who is the leading Bills receiver and made the score 27-3 Bills. Then on defense on 3rd and 10 where Ja’Marcus Ingram continued his hot streak as he sacked Trevor Lawrence forced the punt. Then with 19 second left in the half Allen went 5 for 5 as he threw a 16 yard touchdown to Ty Johnson who got his first touchdown of the season making it 34-3 Bills going into the half.
Then in the 3rd quarter The Jaguars were looking to pick it up and possibly start a comeback and that is what they did as Lawrence led the Jags all the way to the 6 yard line where he threw to Strange for the touchdown making the score 34-10 Bills. On offence the Bills led it to the 27 yard line where they were held to a field goal by Tyler Bass making it 37-10 Bills with 5:06 left in the 3rd quarter. There was no other scoring in the 3rd quarter making the score stay the same going into the 4th.
In the 4th quarter The Jaguars were in Buffalos red zone on 3rd and goal but were stopped and decided to go for it with 14:18 left in the 4th and that is when Von Miller reached Lawrence to get a big time sack to basically ice the game out for Buffalo. Both teams put their backups in and with 7:40 left Tyler Bass kicked a 43 yard field goal making it 40-10. Then with 6:30 left on 2nd and 9 as the Jaguars had the ball with Mack Jones but Javon Solomon got to him and poked the ball out forcing a fumble where Casey Toohill picked up the ball. Then with Mitch Tribusky the Bills continued to dominate as in great field position The Bills brought it all the way the redzone where Ray Davis the rookie running back from Kentucky ran it into the end zone for his first touchdown as a Bill ending the night 47-10 Bills.
With a night of first for a lot of players like Damar Hamlin, Ray Davis, Keon Coleman, Dalton Kinkaid, the entire team came together yet again to get another dominating win against a Florida team to make The Bills improve to 3-0 on the season and look very good in the process. The Bills were dominating from the get go and they look to keep dominating next week as they go on the road next week on Sunday where they play Lamar Jackson and the 1-2 Baltimore Ravens as they hope to improve to 4-0.
