Where do we go from here Cleveland Browns Fans?

On Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season the Cleveland Browns left Philadelphia Pennsylvania with a 1-5 record. This was after a 20-16 loss to the Eagles. Browns fans are disappointed and angry. The anger is directed to many people in the Cleveland Browns organization. From the head coach Kevin Stefanski to the general manager Andrew Berry and even the owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam. The anger is understandable, and the disappointment is too. But the question that needs to be asked is with 11 games remaining in the season, where do we go from here?

Right now, there are calls from fans, podcasters, and reporters to bench quarterback Deshaun Watson and start back up Jameis Winston. Also, the same people want a change for the offensive play caller. They want to see offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey call the plays instead of head coach Kevin Stefanski. What hasn’t happened yet was the call to start firing people. That would only happen if the losing continued. The call for these changes is not the answer to the offensive problems.

After the loss to the Eagles, longtime Cleveland Browns beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot posted on X how now is not the right time to bench Watson. I agree with her, and I know that we are in the minority. Also, I think changing the play caller won’t fix anything either.  What good would changing the play caller do if the offense can’t execute the plays?

The Cleveland Browns offense is not a one-person problem. In the second half of the Eagles game Deshaun Watson went 11-12 for 122 yards passing. He had no interceptions and no touchdowns. We would like to see touchdowns and points with that production. And we would like to see it for a whole game. The best the Browns can do is get healthy on the offensive line and get a productive Nick Chubb back on the active roster. And the best Browns fans can do is understand that this downturn is temporary. I find it hard to believe that this offense is that bad with the caliber of players on the roster. Let’s hope for a turnaround and see what happens in the next 11 games. Because I don’t think Berry and Stefanski are on the hotseat yet. But I think many under performing and over paid players on offense are on the hotseat right now including Deshaun Watson.
