What Did Jordan Love Truly Learn From Aaron Rodgers?
Quarterback Jordan Love is now the man in Green Bay. This is especially the case after he finished second in the NFL in touchdown passes (32) en route to helping lead the Packers to the divisional round last season. Prior to 2023, Love spent the first three seasons of his career learning from four-time MVP and Super Bowl champion Aaron Rodgers.
Earlier this offseason, Love hopped on The Pivot to discuss what he learned from the great No. 12 on Lombardi Avenue for those three seasons.
Here is what he had to say in regard to the most important thing he learned from studying Rodgers:
“The biggest thing I always say that I saw from him was the consistency. Day in and day out.”
It doesn’t get any more consistent than playing for one team for 18 seasons. Rodgers is the franchise’s all-time leading touchdowns passer (475), and he has the best QBR in NFL history (103.6). It is hard to find a better, more talented quarterback than the former Super Bowl MVP. His career in Green Bay proved just that.
Now, it is up to Love to live up to those kinds of expectations after he spent time learning from Rodgers for those few seasons. So far, he has. In addition to passing touchdowns, he finished top-10 among qualified starters in passing yards, completions, QBR, and passer rating in 2023.
The Packers started the season 3-6 before Matt LaFleur’s team got hot. They had important wins over the Super Bowl-winning Chiefs and the NFC North-winning Lions before destroying the Cowboys in the wildcard round in January.
Love’s play and leadership have truly helped make the Packers Super Bowl contenders again. To do this all in year one is a truly special accomplishment. Now, it is up to Love and the rest of the team to get the bad taste out of their mouths from that tough loss in the divisional round against the 49ers if they want to bring the Lombardi Trophy home.
