What Browns fans can expect in Seattle for preseason finale
On Saturday August 24th, 2024, at 10 PM eastern time, the Cleveland Browns will travel to Seattle Washington to play the Seahawks in the 2024 preseason finale. So far in the 2024 preseason the Cleveland Browns have been cautious about playing their starters. However, they are expected to play starters in this game. But Browns fans may wonder how long the starters will play.
Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski has not been specific about starters playing time in Seattle. However, I wouldn’t expect them to play no more than half of the game. A lot would also depend on how the team plays Saturday night. If all goes well, the starters could play one or two series. If it doesn’t go well, they could play a lot longer. Another question for this game is will Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson play?
On the final day of 2024 training camp quarterback Deshaun Watson was limited in practice because of a sore arm. The team decided to give him rest that day. Many Browns fans expressed concern considering Watson had shoulder surgery that ended his 2023 season. Despite that Watson is expected to start in Seattle and get game reps. This will be necessary for the preparation of the season opener in Cleveland against the Dallas Cowboys on September 8th. What would be the best-case scenario for Cleveland Browns fans Saturday night?
The best-case scenario for the Cleveland Browns or any team in their final preseason game is to avoid injuries. Yes, we want to see clean execution of football. Browns fans want the running and passing game to be efficient on offense. They want to see quarterback pressure and run lanes being clogged on defense. No stupid procedural penalties and most of all no more injuries. The score Saturday night is meaningless. The overall health of the Cleveland Browns in 2024 will be priceless.
