The Jets Would Be the Best Trade Partner for Green Bay in a deal for David Bakhtiari

Everyone hates the end of a great run. But sometimes, a new start is what is best for the player and the team involved. This is exactly the case with David Bakhtiari and the Green Bay Packers. The five-time All-Pro has spent a decade in Green Bay and made a lot of memories. He has been a part of a lot of division championship teams and playoff runs. But, his knee problems over the last few seasons have derailed a lot of his and Green Bay’s hopes.

The 32-year-old could be on the way out of Green Bay. A trade certainly could work out financially and for the right price in return, it would hopefully bring dividends to Green Bay. With that said, a team like the New York Jets would be the best trade partner. Here is why it would make sense:

The New York Packers

The New York Jets have a ton of connections to Green Bay, in case any readers didn’t know. For one, arguably the greatest Packer of all-time in Aaron Rodgers is the starting quarterback. Nathaniel Hackett, the former offensive coordinator for Green Bay, is the offensive play-caller for the Jets. Wide receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb also spent plenty of time in Green Bay as significant contributors in the passing game. So, there is a big-time connection or two to the Jets for Green Bay.

A Move Would Help NYJ’s O-Line Issues

The biggest problem on New York’s team is the offensive line. It cost Aaron Rodgers the 2023 season after pressure from the Buffalo Bills caused him to blow out his achilles just four plays into the season. Adding a five-time All-Pro, who would be hopefully healthy, would be a massive addition for the Jets on the left side of their offensive line. Rodgers would feel a lot more comfortable, and the New York passing attack would be elite.

To make this deal work, the Jets would need to send a third or fourth-round pick at the very least to the Packers. Also, Green Bay would save $23 million over the next two years if they dealt No. 69. If Green Bay was to deal the future Packers Hall-of-Famer in Bakhtiari, the Jets would be the best partner for sure.
