The Expected Return of Nick Chubb
After the 20-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cleveland Browns fell to a disappointing 1-5 record for the 2024 season. The Cleveland Browns offense ranks not only worst in the NFL the offense is historically bad. In the first 6 games of the season the Browns offense has yet to score 20 points or more, gain 300 yards of total offense, or finish a drive late in the game to win the game. Considering the money invested in the offense makes the first 6 games of 2024 an abysmal failure. But there may be a glimmer of hope for both the Cleveland Browns and their fans.
Last weekend longtime Cleveland Browns beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot reported on X that Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb will be activated for week 7 at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. That would be a tremendous boost for this beleaguered Cleveland offense. The major question is how effective would Nick Chubb be for the Browns when activated?

Last season in week 2 on Monday Night Football in Pittsburgh, Nick Chubb suffered a horrible knee injury. It was so bad that ESPN would not show the replay. Nick Chubb had to undergo two knee surgeries before starting his rehabilitation program. The last surgery took place 11 months ago. And now Nick Chubb is ready to return to the Cleveland Browns starting lineup in some capacity.
I would expect Chubb to be on a careful program to ease him back into the game flow in the first few weeks he is back playing. I could not see him doing more than 10-15 carries a game to start when he comes back. Maybe by mid-November he can be ready for a full load of 25 carries a game? Having him back would give the Cleveland Browns a much-needed emotional boost. And as of today, this team could use it.
