The Deshaun Watson Saga continues with Attorney Statements

On Wednesday September 11th ,2024, while the Cleveland Browns continued their week of preparation for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Deshaun Watson’s attorney Rusty Hardin released a statement regarding the recent lawsuit and allegations against his client. Hardin did deny the allegations against Deshaun Watson. And that he and Watson are not going to defend themselves in the media, but in a court of law. The attorney for the plaintiff Jane Doe Tony Buzbee released a statement as well.

Buzbee contradicted Watson’s claim that he doesn’t know who this woman is. Also, Buzbee stated that they tried to privately resolve this case as well for the last 10 months. In the statement, Buzbee said that they originally contacted Rusty Hardin’s team almost a year ago. Along with this pending civil lawsuit, both Watson and Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski spoke to the Cleveland sports media that day.

Coach Stefanski immediately referred to the Cleveland Browns statement from the day prior to his press conference. The team and Coach Stefanski’s stance on the pending litigation against Watson is to let the investigation be conducted and see what the result of the investigation brings. Watson spoke to the media as well. He was instructed to not say much of anything by his legal team. He did say that he just learned about the case when the story broke last Monday. Another question that needed to be answered was how this would affect Sunday’s game at Jacksonville?

Both Watson and Stefanski said that they are focused on Sunday’s game against Jacksonville. Stefanski also said that Watson will start the game at quarterback. And he never considered not playing Watson. Watson did almost parrot what Stefanski said. Watson said he is focused on Jacksonville. And after last Sunday’s performance against Dallas. Browns fans hope that that is true!
