Recently Browns Defensive Tackle Maurice Hurst said on Cleveland Browns Daily that the Browns will be playing the Philadelphi Eagles in Sao’ Paulo Brazil on September 6th to open their season. It will be a home game for the Eagles and the Browns will be the visiting team. I’m not sure what insider information he may have? But the speculation was already in place prior to his recent statement regarding the Browns 2024 season opener. Until recently, the season opening game was not kind to the Cleveland Browns.

From 1999-2022 the Browns won only one season opening game. That was in Cleveland against the Baltimore Ravens in 2004. But the last two season opening games the Browns beat the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte NC and the Cincinnati Bengals at home. Winning the opening game can be indicative of the season your team may have. Which would explain the Cleveland Browns record for over two decades in the expansion era. But times have changed and so have the Browns.

The Browns Eagles Friday Night Game would be a nationally televised game. The NFL feels that the Browns are a good enough team to showcase nationally against the Eagles. The 2024 NFL Schedule has not been officially announced yet. But we do know the Cleveland Browns 2024 opponents.

In 2024 the Browns will play their usual six divisional games in the AFC North. The AFC North will play the NFC East and the AFC West. Also, each AFC North team will play an NFC South team, an AFC East team, and an AFC South team. Teams in these games will be matched up based on where they finished in 2023. The Browns Home games will be against the Steelers, Ravens, Bengals, Cowboys, Giants, Chiefs, Chargers, and Dolphins. Their away games will be against the Steelers, Ravens, Bengals, Eagles, Commanders, Broncos, Raiders, Jaguars, and Saints.  The official NFL schedule announcement usually comes after the NFL draft. Fans can expect that in early May. Many fans and experts will play the schedule game after the announcement.

I am not one for making predictions on games six months before they are played. But I can predict how I think the 2024 Cleveland Browns will be as an overall football team. If this team stays relatively healthy, and if Watson and Chubb are back to their old selves? They will be a tough team to beat.
