Packers Looking To Extend Kenny Clark

Packers fans received some good news at the beginning of the final week of March. While the team attempts to get a major contract extension done with signal-caller Jordan Love at some point this offseason, they are also reportedly very interested in signing three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark to a contract extension (per Tom Silverstein). Clark is set to make just under $15.6 million in 2024.

The former UCLA Bruin is the longest tenured Packer on the roster, especially after the franchise parted ways with All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari after 11 seasons in Green Bay earlier this offseason.

Since being drafted in the first round back in 2016, Clark has been a very steady piece in Green Bay. Despite the fact that he is about to play for his fifth different defensive coordinator in what will be his ninth NFL season, he is still the focal point in the middle of the trenches. He has had six seasons with at least four sacks, in addition to recording 112 total pressures over the last six seasons. The former All-American has played with the likes of Clay Matthews, Julius Peppers, Jaire Alexander, Za’Darius Smith, Rasul Douglas, Tramon Williams, Preston Smith, and many more quality defensive players in Green Bay.

Under new, aggressive defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, look for Clark to feast on opposing offenses. He is coming off of a career year where he sacked the opposing quarterback 7.5 times. Green Bay is a more experienced and more formidable team with him in the fold. That is for certain.
