Ohio State Stomps Western Michigan, 56-0

On Saturday September 7th ,2024, at 7:30 PM eastern time the Ohio State Buckeyes hosted the Western Michigan Broncos for their second game of the 2024 season. The Saturday night game was expected to be as one sided as last week’s Buckeyes win over the Akron Zips. Last week Ohio State routed Akron 52-6, this week the Buckeyes were 37-point favorites over the Broncos. Another big game was expected from Buckeye’s quarterback Will Howard and wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. The Buckeye’s ground game would not be denied either. With TreyVon Henderson chomping at the bit to get the ball. The Buckeyes were hungry for a blowout win.

Unlike last week, Ohio State started fast and scored a touchdown on their first offensive possession. After that Ohio State did not let up on the outmatched Western Michigan Broncos. By the end of the 1st quarter Ohio State led by a score of 21-0. The Buckeyes went on to ride their momentum in the 2nd quarter and led Western Michigan at halftime 35-0. Last week against Akron, Ohio State had a total of 404 yards of offense. In the first half this week against Western Michigan the Buckeyes offense had 406 yards. The relentless Ohio State squad kept their preverbal foot on gas and made sure that the blowout of Western Michigan was intact. And Ohio State ended the 3rd quarter with a 49-0 lead. In the 4th quarter the Buckeyes went on to cruise to a 56-0 win over the Western Michigan Broncos.

With week 2 in the books, Ohio State will now focus on their next opponent, on September 21st,2024, the Marshall Thundering Herd will be visiting the Ohio State Buckeyes. Another MAC team coming to Columbus will probably mean another blowout win for Ohio State. It can be one final tune up until Big Ten Conference play begins for Ohio State when they travel to Lansing Michigan, and they play the Michigan State Spartans on September 28th. That is when games for the Ohio State Buckeyes will start to get more interesting.
