On Saturday October 26th ,2024, at noon eastern time, the 4th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes 5-1 will host the unranked Nebraska Cornhuskers 5-2. The Buckeyes are coming off a bye week and, in the week, prior they lost a heart breaker in Oregon 32-31. Nebraska last weekend suffered a shellacking from the 13th ranked Indiana Hoosiers 56-7. This game appears to be setting up to be another dominant Ohio State win.

As I write this article Ohio State is a 25.5-point favorite in this game. The Buckeyes should be able to take care of business on the field Saturday against Nebraska. But there is always a possibility of getting upset in College Football. The concern that I have is the following week matchup in Happy Valley Pennsylvania against the 3rd ranked Penn State Nittany Lions. It is possible that Ohio State could look past Nebraska and get upset in this game. It is the job of the Buckeyes Head Coach Ryan Day to keep his team focused on the task at hand. If the Buckeyes somehow get upset by Nebraska? The following weeks Penn State game would mean a lot less to the 2024 season.

The best thing this Buckeyes team can do is respect their opponent, be prepared, and be focused. They will be a well-rested team coming off a bye week. And they should be hungry for a win after losing to Oregon two weeks ago. I would expect a big game from the Ohio State running backs and freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. I would also expect Ohio State quarterback Will Howard to have good game as well. The Buckeyes defense should be able to neutralize the Nebraska offense on Saturday too. But as we all know that games are not won on paper, they are won on the field.
