NFL Week 12 Daily Fantasy Preview
Happy Thanksgiving week and welcome to the Daily Fantasy Preview. This weekly article will dive into all the best values and bets for the upcoming week of NFL action. If you’re a competitive DFS player or want a leg up on the weekend’s betting action, this is the place for you! Let’s dive into the Week 12 slate.
Note: All fantasy statistics mentioned in this article are based on Draft Kings salaries and player and team rankings. The value options mentioned should be viable on most DFS platforms and sportsbooks.
SUNDAY DFS DARLINGS (VALUE PLAYS UNDER $5,500 SALARY)
Draft Kings NFL Classic $3.0M Fantasy Football Millionaire. Entry $20. $1M to 1st. 9-player roster.
QB BAKER MAYFIELD (TB) vs. IND – $5,500
Baker hasn’t been quite as good for Fantasy the last couple of weeks against stiffer competition, but that’s now how anyone would describe a pretty mediocre Colts secondary. They do know how to take the ball away, but they often give up big plays in the pursuit of those takeaways. For Baker, his cast of weapons gives him a solid floor and decent upside for not a lot of Salary Cap allowance this week.
QB GARDNER MINSHEW (IND) vs. TB – $5,100
On the other side of the TB @ IND contest is Minshew, who has been underwhelming for the most part as a fantasy QB. Only two teams are giving up more fantasy points to opposing QBs than Tampa, and without many other value options in this week’s slate, Minshew is kind of “the best of the rest” at QB this week for Sunday DFS.
RB JAYLEN WARREN (PIT) vs. CIN – $5,400
For those with stony roofs, Matt Canada is out as the offensive coordinator in Pittsburgh, replaced by a combo of the team’s RB coach Eddie Faulkner and QB coach Mike Sullivan. This bodes well for Warren, who leads all RBs in scrimmage yards over the last 3 weeks while earning over 10 yds/touch in that span. That’s elite efficiency, and now with his position coach serving as the interim designer of the offense, his workload is likely to expand. This is probably the last week you’ll get Warren in the value zone.
RB KAREEM HUNT (CLE) vs. DEN – $4,800
The Broncos have been playing much better on both sides of the ball in recent weeks, but they still rank as the league’s most generous defense to opposing fantasy RBs. Hunt’s role is pretty well-established for Cleveland, and he is a TD-dependent RB2 in this matchup. That should allow for a decent floor and a Top 10 ceiling for a Browns team looking to run the football a lot with their 3rd string QB getting the start.
WR GABE DAVIS (BUF) vs. PHI – $5,300
Love this matchup for Davis. With the Eagles likely to focus their attention on Stefon Diggs, an already suspect secondary could allow even more open room for Davis to operate. With the Bills resurgent on offense after their own OC switch in a game likely to be rife with scoring, Davis has extremely high upside this week.
WR JOSH DOWNS (IND) vs. TB – $4,800
When healthy, Downs has been a fantastic surprise contributor for the Indianapolis Colts and fantasy managers in all formats. He’s a little boom or bust, but when he booms, it typically turns into a good day for your DFS squad. Give him a shot this week against a bad Buccaneers’ secondary.
TE PAT FREIERMUTH (PIT) vs. CIN – $2,900
Every TE outside of Travis Kelce falls into my $5,500 value zone, so I’m going to ride with an extreme value in the Steelers TE who came back from IR last week to only garner a single catch for 7 yards with OC Matt Canada at the helm. There’s the potential for a big turnaround for the man they call “Muth” with a new OC calling the shots and another week removed from his reserve stint. At this price, he’s a great value play against a porous Cincinnati defense.
