Jordan Love: Everyone Loves Jaire Alexander

2023 was one of the wackiest Packers seasons in history. After starting off 3-6, Green Bay finished 9-8 and in the first year without Aaron Rodgers, the team, led by Jordan Love, made it to within 15 minutes of a berth in the NFC Championship Game.

One of the other reasons why it was a wacky season was because of the interesting antics of All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander. After self-proclaiming himself as a captain in Week 16 vs Carolina, he was suspended one game by the Packers.

Despite this infraction, everyone in the building in Green Bay still loves Alexander. After the suspension, coach Matt LaFleur was quoted as saying, “We look forward to welcoming him back next week as he is a valued member of this team and will continue to be in the future.” Alexander would go on to become a great player down the stretch, as he would intercept Dak Prescott in Green Bay’s playoff win in Dallas.

Earlier this offseason, quarterback Jordan Love was asked on The Pivot about Alexander. This is what he had to say:

“He’s a character. You never really know what you’re going to get out of Ja…I love Ja. Everybody on the team loves Ja…He’s a phenomenal player. So, I can’t say enough good things about him.”

It’s obvious that Alexander has made a few character mistakes, but he is still one of the most beloved players on the team.

After being drafted out of Louisville in the first round back in 2018, the Charlotte native has become a multi-time All-Pro with the Packers. He has 63 career pass deflections and over 225 career solo tackles over his six years on Lombardi Avenue. He will need to be a true leader this upcoming season, along with the likes of Preston Smith and Kenny Clark, if the Packers want to make a Super Bowl run.
