Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Wishlist, Playoff Edition 2.0

The fantasy regular season is complete for most league’s and many of you may have begun your playoffs already. If you made it to the Fantasy Dance, congratulations! You navigated a seemingly unprecedented war of attrition in the NFL this year, and you have a shot at a title!

Again this week, I’ll be highlighting FIVE more must add player on the Waiver Wire to strengthen your roster for a Championship push. Let’s dive in!

Note: All fantasy advice in this article is based on PPR scoring unless otherwise stated.

TOP 5 WEEK 16 PLAYOFF MUST-ADDS

QB DEREK CARR | NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

Carr draws a plus matchup in Week 16 against a Rams team giving up the 7th most points to opposing QBs. The Saints QB managed to put up 23+ fpts in Week 15 without his star WR Chris Olave on the field. If Olave returns this week, you’d feel pretty good about Carr as a playoff fill-in if your Fantasy squad is dealing with QB injuries (who isn’t at this point?)

WR JOSHUA PALMER | LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

Palmer returned from his IR stint to score a big play TD and lead the Chargers WRs in targets with Keenan Allen out for Week 15. He’s got a chance to keep humming this week against the Bills, since the Chargers will likely have to air it out all game in order to keep up with the high-flying Bills right now.

TE HUNTER HENRY | NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

Henry has been on fire the last two weeks, with back-to-back 19+ point outings and totaling 3 TDs and 104 REC YDS in that span. Since he took over the starting gig vs. the Steelers in Week 14, QB Bailey Zappe looks Henry’s way first in the Red Zone. He’s a high-end TE2 with upside next in Week 16.

D/ST INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

If you’re a streamer of Defenses, the Colts are the team to target currently. They are forcing opposing teams into mistakes every week, and they continue to get pressure on opposing QBs as well. They are a well-rounded group and could definitely score more big points in a plus matchup against the flailing Falcons.

RB TY CHANDLER | MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Ty Chandler has looked far more explosive as the fill-in for the injured Alexander Mattison, and should continue to earn a decent number of looks even if Mattison comes back. The ceiling would obviously be capped in that case, but if Chandler handles true RB1 usage again in Week 16, he’s a start-able RB2.

That does it for this week’s Waiver Wire Wishlist. For more details about these players, tune into the Fantasy First Podcast on Tuesdays and Thursdays where I discuss Waiver Wire targets, Thursday Night Football player and team props, DFS Darlings, and more!
