Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers Week 14 Preview

On Sunday December 8th at 1 pm eastern time, the 3-9 Cleveland Browns travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to play the 9-3 Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. The Steelers won their last game in Cincinnati 44-38. The Browns are on a short week and lost their last game on Monday night in Denver 41-32. The last time these two teams met were in Cleveland on November 21st ,2024, on Thursday Night Primetime. The Browns won that game in the snow 24-19. The Steelers are a 6-point favorite for this game and the Browns history in Pittsburgh has not gone well in the past.

The last time the Cleveland Browns beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in Pittsburgh was in January of 2021 in the AFC Wildcard game. That was only the second time they have won in that stadium in 22 years. The home field advantage is strong at Acrisure Stadium when it is filled with loud Steelers fans. The January 2021 AFC Wildcard game had an empty stadium. This was due to the state’s covid restrictions at that time. For the Browns winning in Pittsburgh is not unheard of, it is just extremely difficult to do. And this game is no different.

Both teams’ offenses are coming off high scoring games and neither offense is known for scoring a lot of points. Both defenses are tough to score on in the NFL too. But both gave up a lot of points in their previous games. In a rivalry game, the team’s records can be thrown out and anything can happen. This is also true for the NFL.

Even though the 2024 Cleveland Browns season has been a disappointment. The team has shown effort in every game. I would expect that at the very least in Pittsburgh. The question is will the effort be enough to upset them a second time in 3 weeks.
