Cleveland Browns vs. L.A. Chargers Week 9 Preview

On Sunday the 2-6 Cleveland Browns will host the 4-3 Los Angeles Chargers at Huntington Bank Field.  The Chargers are an early 2-point favorite in this game. The Browns are coming off an emotional week 8 win over the Baltimore Ravens at home 29-24. The Chargers won last week at home against the New Orleans Saints 26-8. The rejuvenated Cleveland offense gives Browns fans hope for this game.

Last week against Baltimore, Jameis Winston threw for 3 touchdowns and 334 yards. That was the first time this season the Browns offense scored more than 20 points and had more than 400 yards of total offense. Browns running back Nick Chubb also looked like he was coming along with his return from the knee injury in 2023. He had 16 rushes for 52 yards. What has also helped was the Browns offensive line being healthy and effective. Can the Cleveland Browns start stacking up wins and turn around their 2024 season?

The Los Angeles Chargers have the 7th ranked defense in the NFL.  Their offense is ranked 22nd in the league. Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert historically has played well against the Browns. This season he has 1,441 yards, 8 touchdowns, and 1 interception. His quarterback rating is 98.2 in the 2024 season. One advantage for the Browns is the fact that a west coast team is coming to Ohio to play in a 1pm afternoon game. Can the Browns win this game and go into the bye week with two wins in a row?

If the Cleveland Browns team that showed up last Sunday against Baltimore shows up this Sunday against the Chargers, the chances of them winning this game increases exponentially. So, the question is which Cleveland Browns team will show up on Sunday? Cleveland Browns fans are now hoping for a repeat performance from last week and that team shows up to play.
