Cavs Shellack the Warriors 136-117 to go 10-0

On Friday the 9-0 Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the 7-1 Golden State Warriors at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. The Warriors are coming off a big win in Boston against the defending World Champion Boston Celtics. The Cavaliers are trying to extend their 9-game win streak to 10 games. Meanwhile for the Cavaliers injuries are starting to pile up. Cavaliers forward Sam Merrill was listed as questionable with an ankle injury for this game. Warriors’ veteran forward Draymond Green was also questionable for this due to a right knee contusion. They both played in the game. Even though it is early in the season, this was the first major test for this exciting Cleveland Cavaliers team.

The Cavaliers showed up to this game ready to play. They stormed out to a 20-2 run to start the game and they kept up the pressure and tempo. Golden State’s Draymond Green struggled defensively in the first half against the Cavaliers Evan Mobley. Green was charged with 4 personal fouls in the first half alone.  The Cavaliers forced turnovers and executed their offense to perfection in the first half of the game. At halftime the Cavaliers shellshocked the Warriors to lead 83-42. In the 2nd half the Cavaliers kept up the pace defensively and did not let up. If this game were a pay per view fight it would have been stopped at halftime. The final score has the Cavaliers blowing out the Golden State Warriors by a score of 136-117. The Cavaliers have now started their season with a 10-0 record.

Darius Garland led the Cavaliers in scoring with 27 points in 30 minutes. Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen had another double-double in this game with 13 points and 12 rebounds in 30 minutes of play. Up next for the Cleveland Cavaliers is the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday at 7:30 pm eastern time at the Rocket Mortgage Field House. This win was the most impressive for this Cavaliers team early in this season. The game was real, the score was real, and this Cleveland Cavaliers team is for real.
