Cavs Destroy Lakers, 134-110
On Wednesday the Los Angeles Lakers with Lebron James and son traveled to Cleveland Ohio to play the Cleveland Cavaliers at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. The Cavaliers have been red hot and started their season with a four-game winning streak. The Lakers currently have a 3-1 record. This game is anticipated to be an interesting matchup of two top NBA teams. The Lakers being a mainstay in the Western Conference and the Cavaliers are considered to be up and coming contenders in the Eastern Conference. Also, this game is a homecoming for Lebron and Bronny James.
From the tip off the Cavaliers dominated the Lakers, Cleveland stormed out to a 42-point first quarter and led by 17. In the second quarter both the Lakers and Cavaliers scored 25 points each and the score at halftime was Cleveland 67 Los Angeles 48. The third quarter continued with the Cavaliers dominance over the Lakers. Cleveland managed to score 32 points and the Lakers scored 31. The score at the end 3 quarters of play was Cleveland 99 Los Angeles 79. The fourth and final quarter had Cleveland scoring 35 points and Los Angeles scored 31 points for a final score of Cavs 134 Lakers 110. Again, the Cavaliers showed a team effort to continue their win streak to 5 games. And for the third time in team history, they started the season with a 5-0 record.
The Cavaliers again had 5 players in double digits. Forward Evan Mobley led the team with 25 points in 19 minutes. Center Jarrett Allen had another double-double with 25 points and 17 rebounds in 31 minutes. Also, guard Donovan Mitchell had 24 points in 30 minutes. Lebron James led the Lakers with 26 points in 29 minutes, Bronny James had 2 points in 5 minutes. The question to ask now is what is next for this dynamic Cleveland Cavaliers team?
Next up for the Cavaliers is the Orlando Magic at home Friday at 7pm eastern time. Can this exciting Cleveland Cavaliers team go 6-0? I believe it can happen. And I look forward to watching and seeing it for myself.
