Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Western Michigan, Week 2 Preview

On Saturday September 7th ,2024, at 7:30 pm eastern time, the Ohio State Buckeyes will host the Western Michigan Broncos for their second game of the 2024 season. The Buckeyes are coming off the 52-6 drubbing of the Akron Zips in week 1. They are now gearing up for their second consecutive opponent from the MAC. This game is predicted to have a similar outcome as week 1.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are early 37.5-point favorites over the Western Michigan Broncos. Buckeye fans can expect a big game from quarterback Will Howard and wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. This is expected to be another lopsided matchup for Ohio State. But Ohio State does give reasons for fans to watch the game.

Although Western Michigan is not a ranked opponent, Ohio State does have some fine tuning to do on offense and defense. Early in the game against Akron there were some mistakes made and they were quickly overcome by Ohio State having the more talented team on the field. This game will be a tune up game for Ohio State and fans will have to wait until Saturday night to watch the game. The game will be televised on Fox Sports and will probably be televised regionally.

This game is supposed to be the next step for Ohio State towards a National Championship Game. National title contenders are expected to not only win this type of game, but they are also expected to dominate them. Ohio State has high expectations this season and with those expectations comes pressure to blow out unranked opponents. That shouldn’t be an issue this game. Defeating the Western Michigan Broncos by a decisive margin is what second ranked team in the country should do. Taking them lightly is what they should not do.
