Browns RB Nick Chubb Injury Update

This past week the Cleveland Browns held their voluntary Organized Team Activities at the team’s practice facility in Berea Ohio. For the first time this offseason fans and media get a first look at the potential 2024 roster. Even though the players are in shorts and helmets, one can get a good idea what is the makeup of the team. One key player for Cleveland Browns was not in attendance this week.

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb did not participate in this past week’s team OTA’s. He is recovering from a serious 2023-week 2 knee injury on Monday Night Football in Pittsburgh. Since that injury he has undergone 2 knee surgeries and continues to rehabilitate from the injury. Recently an optimistic update was given on Chubb’s rehab.

Browns beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot reported on where Nick Chubb is in his rehab process. Cabot said that Chubb will not participate in OTAs and minicamp. But if all goes well, he will test the knee in training camp. And if Chubb suffers no setbacks, he will return to the field as soon as possible. Chubb has been running for several weeks and the rehab process at the very least is on schedule. This is positive news for Browns fans.

The Cleveland Browns will need the production of Nick Chubb to contend in both the AFC and the AFC North. Chubb’s future with the team will be determined this season on how well he bounces back from last year’s injury. Jack Duffin from the Orange and Brown Report predicted a Nick Chubb contract extension. That could be possible by the end of the 2024 season.  From what I can gather Nick Chubb will return to the offensive backfield for the Cleveland Browns in 2024. His return in 2024 will be impactful for the Cleveland Browns.  It is just a matter of when and how much?
