Browns Lose to Steelers, 27-14
On Sunday December 8th the Cleveland Browns traveled to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to play the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. The last time these two teams met was in Cleveland Ohio on November 21st during a snowstorm. The Browns won that game 24-19 and are trying to sweep the season series with the Steelers for the first time since 1988. Also, the Browns have only won in Pittsburgh 3 times since coming back in 1999. The biggest surprise before the game was Steelers receiver George Pickens being inactive with a hamstring injury. This could have helped the Browns, because history in Pittsburgh has not been kind to the Cleveland Browns. Would that history continue for this game, or will new history be made?
What continued for the Browns in Pittsburgh was costly mistakes. Browns kicker Dustin Hopkins missed 2 field goals under 40 yards. Jameis Winston threw two interceptions and a muffed punt by Kadarius Toney deep in Cleveland territory doomed the Browns chances of winning this game. The Steelers won the game 27-14. Pittsburgh is team that you cannot make mistakes against if you expect to have a chance to win the game. While Pittsburgh is now 10-3 and in the driver seat for an AFC North Title, Cleveland is now 3-10 is trying to stack wins to build upon next season.
It doesn’t get easier for the Cleveland Browns, they host the 11-1 Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday December 15th, 2024, at 1pm eastern time at Huntington Bank Field. Up next for Pittsburgh is a tough road game against the 11-2 Philadelphia Eagles. For Cleveland Browns fans they want to see less turnovers and mistakes, because in the NFL those cost you games. And in 2024 they cost the Browns too many games, and it has become too many games to even count.
