Browns lose to Ravens in season finale, 35-10

On Saturday January 4th at 4:30 pm eastern time the 3-13 Cleveland Browns traveled to Baltimore Maryland to play the 11-5 Baltimore Ravens at M & T Bank Stadium.  The Ravens led the AFC North Division and were able to clinch the division title with the win. Their previous game was a Christmas Day beatdown of the Houston Texans in Houston 31-2. Last Sunday the Browns lost their home finale to the Miami Dolphins 20-3. The Browns started quarterback Bailey Zappe in this game. It seemed like the Ravens were playing for a division championship while the Browns were playing for a top three draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The offense under starting quarterback Bailey Zappe did not do themselves any favors with a first quarter interception returned for touchdown. After that had happened it felt like the game was already out of reach. The defense overall did not play a bad game. Defensive end Myles Garrett garnered a lot of attention from the Ravens offense. He was doubled and tripled teamed often throughout the game. One injury concern for the Browns was promising rookie defensive tackle Michael Hall Jr. being carted off the field due to a knee injury. Hopefully he can recover quickly and be back on the field soon. The Browns lost to the Ravens to end the 2024 season 35-10. The Cleveland Browns finish the season with a 3-14 record and are guaranteed a top 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.  Now that the season is over for the Browns, changes can be expected this offseason.

Both head coach Kevin Stefanski and general manager Andrew Berry are expected to be back in 2025. However, changes to coaching staff especially on offense are expected. Roster personal changes will happen as well, Browns fans can expect the Browns to have an active offseason in free agency and trades. If the New England Patriots and the Tennessee Titans win their week 18 games, the Cleveland Browns will land the number one overall pick in next April’s NFL Draft.  For the final week of the NFL season, Cleveland Browns fans will become Patriots and Titans fans for one day. And maybe one day is all we need to turn around this ship called the Cleveland Browns.
